Starting My Website Research

competitive analysis mind map

This past week, I was able to get two of my Internship Learning Agreement approved. I am waiting on the third client’s to get approved. I was able to complete a detailed schedule and budget for all of my clients. I am still working on how I will complete certain tasks and what documents I want to include in my workflow. I am going to keep my current workflow for now, and scale back as needed. When I composed the budget, I quoted more time so I would not go over my timeline and budget. As I complete my tasks, I will see how much time it takes to complete each one.

I have been working on a Competitive Analysis for each of my clients. I am going to complete an informal report, just to see how it assists me with the web design process. I am working on how to combine and use some of my documents.

The IT company that I am redesigning offers many services from home automation and cameras, to installing internet cables. They offer services to individuals, as well as newly constructed businesses. Finding their competition goes into different areas of expertise and fields. I am having a hard time with this analysis but I will see how things go this week. I will just focus on the top two or three services they provide and see what results I get.

  1. You had a very good idea to quote more time than you may think you need. Especially because things come up sometimes and this is a great way to create a safety net. What’s even better is that if you complete everything early, you get to impress your clients with incredible work ahead of schedule.

After reading and commenting on a few blog posts, I would suggest having the “Previous Post” and “Next Post” buttons follow the post. Then have the comment section below the buttons, followed by the “You may also like” section, and lastly the social media icons. I think it would make it a bit more user-friendly in the sense that whoever is trying to leave a comment can see your post without having to scroll up and down to go between comments and the post. This is just something I like to do to make sure I am touching on the points that I think are worth discussing. Just my personal preference though.

  2. That sounds super exciting and intense! It makes me realize that I may need to run analyses for each of my client’s needs as well. I wish you the best of luck with that!
