Linked In

Linked In website

This week in class, we worked on our Linked In profile. I already have a profile so I just updated it and made some changes based on some resources from class. I have used Linked In for over 5 years but never really interacted with it. I have a lot of skills, trainings, and jobs on my profile. My challenge is seeing what to keep, and what to delete, to optimize my profile.

This week I am also creating project scopes for two of my clients, the nonprofit and fitness trainer. I had to do a lot of research for both. This is setting the tone for how my web development process will work. I think it is best to use WordPress for both websites. There are many plugins that I can use for both. I am looking forward to seeing what I create for my clients with WordPress.

  1. With my client, I also did a lot of research. Actually, throughout the entire time working with my client, I continuously researched. I spent time researching how to form and create appropriate documentation. Although I did this research in previous classes, I still wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, especially with how quickly things change. I also spent a lot of time researching my client’s industry as well. That really helped me to create content that fits their business and industry well.

It sounds like the LinkedIn course task went smoothly for you seeing as you already had a profile. That is really helpful. I didn’t realize that LinkedIn was so widely used especially for searching for employment and hiring. Very cool!

  2. I am using WordPress for one of my clients too! It is a surprisingly versatile CMS, as hard as it was to figure out in the CMS class.

Scopes do require a lot of research, and trying to get them signed is a slow process. I am trying to get a few prepared myself, and it is hard to not feel like it will take forever. It is encouraging to see your success pushing forward, good luck!
