This week, I received feedback from Employment Services on my resume and cover letter. I ended up finding a good template and they look professional. I was also able to get feedback from my classmates which was extremely helpful. This week, we also worked on our skills list, work samples, and employment seeking website. I have been working on each of these on my own for awhile so it helps that we are going over these in class.
I feel now I have a great skills list to work from. I have been reviewing work from previous semesters. When I coded my projects for the class, I tried to incorporate everything a professional developer would. My work samples are almost where I need them. I just have to make sure there are no errors and make them responsive and check for accessibility. I am working on some side projects to built my skills even further.
For my employment seeking website, I have already coded a pretty good draft. There are some things I would like to add like an animated header, my logo, and more websites and projects I have completed.
Things are going slow right now with my internship projects but I am using this time to get a little organized. I still have to meet with a client about her website. I guess that is a part of the job, waiting on the client to have time to discuss the project.

It sounds like you did an exceptional job at preparing your class projects to be up to par with development standards. That was really smart and a great way to get ahead. Waiting on the client can be tough. I had that happen a few times throughout my internship where I was asked to work on a specific project, but I didn’t get the material needed in order to work on that project. Then I would get asked why I didn’t do the project yet, and it just seemed to go in a circle. I had one main point-of-contact and a second point-of-contact who I didn’t speak to as much. What ended up happening for me was the main contact and the second contact didn’t talk as much as I thought, so they weren’t on the same page with some of the tasks. I ended up creating a group email and text to make sure both contacts were getting the same information to try to minimize issues moving forward.
I’m not sure if you had the option to be able to contact more than one person, but it can really put a hindrance on your time and work when you don’t have the proper material in a timely fashion.
I think you did a great job on preparing your school projects.
